George W. Bush is a failed president. And as someone who voted for the man twice, I am ashamed to have to admit it.
Bush
has failed on a variety of fronts. He is certainly not a fiscal
conservative by any stretch of the imagination. Even his most ardent
supporters (of which there are very few) would have to agree that he
has spent more money on "compassionate conservative" causes than our
country can afford. Bush has also failed in the war on Islam. He has
mishandled the Iraq war, a war that was justified despite the fact that
the weapons of mass destruction that Saddam Hussein did possess were
not found. The troop surge that is now underway may be the last best
hope for achieving a military victory, but this surge may be too
little, too late.
But there is something far more sinister going on here. Bush is a one-
worlder
just like his father. And many in congress as well as Joe Citizen are
concerned about the loss of United States sovereignty due to our
participation in the Security and Prosperity Partnership. Many feel
that the reason our immigration problem is so bad is due to the attempt
to placate the Mexican government as a result of this agreement. Bush
wants to create a North American Union between the U.S., Mexico and
Canada. In order to achieve this, Bush plans to keep border security
low. He also intends to give amnesty to the 3o million illegals living
here, let them collect Social Security benefits, and put them on a fast
track to citizenship.
Many conservatives are aware of what is
going on here, and in an attempt to show their disgust, they either did
not vote in the November elections, or they sent a message by voting
for democrats. Now the democrats control both houses of congress, and
are poised to really send this country to hell. Republicans are
scrambling to find a candidate that defeat the Hillary juggernaut that
looms large in 2008. But so far, not one republican wannabee has met
muster.
Bush may have not only single-
handedly train wrecked his presidency, he may have also damaged the GOP to the point that it may never recover.
