Mike
Nifong,
the rogue prosecuting attorney in the Duke lacrosse rape case, in a
crocodile tearful display, said he would resign his position.
Not good enough.
He
has been disbarred and disgraced for railroading three innocent young
men in the rape of a whore when he possessed and deliberately withheld
evidence which proved they did absolutely nothing wrong. And for what?
Political motivations.
Lane Williamson, the chairman of the
three-member disciplinary committee that stripped the veteran
prosecutor of his law license, said "This matter has been a fiasco."
Nifong
had hoped that by manipulating the investigation, he would increase his
chances of winning his first election as Durham County district
attorney. In doing so, he committed misconduct involving, deceit,
dishonesty, fraud and misrepresentation. He is now out of a job and a
career.
Not good enough.
These falsely accused young men
have had their lives ruined. Despite being declared innocent of all the
charges, David Evans, Reade
Seligmann and Collin
Finnerty,
will forever carry with them the stain of possible guilt. People will
look upon them with distrust and say, "well they must have been guilty
of something".
Running Mr.
Nifong
out of town on a rail is simply not good enough. It's not good enough
for me, and it should certainly not be good enough for you.
Nifong
needs to be charged criminally. The players' defense attorney said they
will indeed seek criminal contempt charges next week from a judge who
has indicated he has the authority to impose punishment..
Nifong could be charged with civil rights violations as well.
If convicted,
Nifong could be sent to prison.
Not good enough.
If sent to prison,
Nifong should be placed in a cell with a 250 lb. real rapist named
Bubba, who truly sodomized some poor innocent victim. And
Bubba should make use of
Nifong as his wife for a few days. Or at the very least until
Nifong's rear end bleeds.
Good enough.
