The American people are to be congratulated for their relentless efforts in getting the immigration bill defeated.
Through a combination of telephone calls, emails, and campaigns such as
"Operation Border Jumpers", congress did indeed get the message loud
and clear that there is absolutely no support among the citizenry of
the United States for amnesty for the 30 million illegals who broke the
law to get into this country.
The bill is dead...for now. However, it can and will surely get
resurrected in the next couple of years. We as a nation must be ever
vigilant if we are to prevent this from happening again.
All immigration into this great land, both legal and illegal should be
immediately halted until a viable solution to the problem is worked out.
There is only one solution to the growing problem of illegal
immigration. We must secure our borders. We must build an impenetrable
barrier which will prevent anyone from sneaking into this country. We
must beef up our border security through the hiring of more border
patrol agents. We must pardon and free the border patrol agents who
have been railroaded for serving this country nobly by defending this
great land, and we must prosecute those who went after them to the
fullest extent of the law. We must give these agents, as well as the
National Guard troops stationed along our porous borders the authority
to shoot to kill anyone attempting to get into this country illegally.
As we secure our borders, we must also put every effort into rounding
up and deporting every illegal alien living in this nation. And
yes...it can be done. We must revoke the citizenship of every child
born in this country to an illegal alien, and amend our Constitution to
prevent any more anchor babies.
Once all this has been accomplished, then, and only then should we even
think about discussing opening our arms to immigrants of any kind.
And we must vote out of office anyone who supported this amnesty bill
and elect officials who will follow the dictates of their constituents.
Yes, Americans are to be lauded for a job well done. But it's not over yet. We still have work to do. Let's get it done!
