Mike
Huckabee's tremendous victory in the Iowa caucuses proves he is a serious contender for the GOP presidential nomination.
There
are those who will argue that his conservative religious base was what
put him over the top, and that the upcoming New Hampshire primaries
will show his lack of staying power.
Huckabee
has said that he will consider his campaign in great shape even if he
comes in third or fourth int New Hampshire.I think he's right. He is
starting to be noticed as a true conservative on fiscal issues. His
stand on a fair tax has attracted him to many people who are fed up
with the IRS and the punitive tax system in this country. His
willingness to break with the Bush administration over our position in
the world with regard to the war on terror has alarmed many
conservatives and put him in hot water with pundits such as Rush
Limbaugh.
Time will tell whether the
Huckaboom or a
Huckabust. But for my money, if you
compare and contrast the other GOP candidates, Mike
Huckabee, who at one time was considered an also-ran, is now a force to be
recognized, who could give
Obama or Hillary a run for their money in November.
